Introducing Code Ninjas Badges
Available virtually and in-person, Code Ninjas Badges enable kids to explore coding in new and exciting ways
We’re excited to introduce a new initiative called Code Ninjas Badges! These awards are designed to inspire and motivate ninjas as they explore exciting new ways to use their coding savvy and strive towards ninja excellence in the dojo — and beyond!
Your child can earn these badges in two ways — as part of our in-center CREATE program where they are included in your child’s journey from white to black belt, or virtually from home!
In our brand new virtual badge program, your child will choose a badge and each week we will send out new challenges for that belt, including instructions and video tutorials. Then we will also offer weekly “live” sensei sessions hosted via Zoom for your child to meet with our senseis, get guidance on their challenges and ask questions. It’s *most* of the fun of visiting our center in person, but your child can do it from wherever they are!
About badges
There are two types of badges — Quest and Boss. Quest Badges are more general badges that mark achievements and accomplishments across all programs. Boss badges celebrate major accomplishments and each involve multiple challenges.
Previously, each belt had a robotics component at the end before the ninja could move on to the next belt level, the robotics challenges have now been converted to badges, so ninjas may choose robotics or any of our other boss badges to complete before moving up. This allows each ninja to take a path that includes badges that interest them the most — no two belt journeys have to be the same!
